Verve Lead has some very exciting news!
In early February, I had the privilege of joining the dissertation committee of Alyssa Serpa, with Biola’s Rosemead School of Psychology, alongside Professor Chris Adams (Director of Flourishing in Ministry and consultant and researcher with the Duke Clergy Health Initiative) and Professor Todd Hall (Faculty Affiliate in the Harvard Human Flourishing Program).
I’m excited to congratulate Alyssa for passing her Psy.D dissertation, and to thank her for her important work on the Initial Development and Factor Analysis for the Healthy Christian Leader Assessment. Her dissertation has determined that the 25 Behavioural Expressions are valid and reliable. Her cross-factor analysis of 25 behavioural expressions raised the question: how are the Behavioural Expressions grouped and connected? Alyssa found that while the Behavioural Expressions can stand alone, they also fit into three domains:
- Psychological Well-being
- Spiritual Vitality
- Transformative Leadership
I’d like to thank the 684 participants in this research. 36 Nations were represented, which included 33 denominations (one of which was a large group of all the non-denominational Christians). This was a global study of Christians who made significant contributions to Christian Leader Health. The Assessments’ reliability has been demonstrated on a global, multi-denominational scale, confirming that our work is universally valid.
What’s next:
Take the Health of a Christian Leader Assessment in its current form here.
